How to use it

Fill in your business details once, add the client, then one row per product or service with quantity and rate. Tax is applied after any discount — the same order US bookkeepers use — and the balance due subtracts anything already paid. What a complete invoice includes

The word “Invoice”, a unique invoice number, your business name and contact, the client's name, an issue date and a due date, itemized lines with quantities and rates, tax shown separately, the total, and how to pay. Every one of those is on this template, because missing any of them is a classic reason invoices get paid late.

Is this invoice legally valid?

Yes — an invoice is simply a request for payment documenting a sale; no special license is needed. Keep copies for your tax records (US businesses generally keep them at least 3–7 years).
